Boats (courses in English)

The Glénans’ fleet is made up of 492 boats. From windsurf to sailing boats (over 13 meters), each boat has been carefully chosen in order to deliver the most appropriate learning and to give you the best training possible.
Sometimes, the Glénans ask the shipbuilder to make some changes, in order to improve the security and to allow trainees to enjoy the easiest way to improve their skills.
During the English sailing course you can choose between 2 kinds of boats, either a Dufour 325 or a Sun Fast 32i, according to the level and the course you are willing to follow.
Here are their main characteristics.

Dufour 325

This boat is comfortable and spacious, it is robust, efficient and easy to sail and live.
It drawns 1.55 meters, and allows both efficiency and ability to sail along the coast, even without deep water.
It can host 5 trainees and an instructor, and is dedicated to adults’ coastal sailing courses (levels 1 and 2), and juniors’ coastal sailing courses (levels 1, 2 and 3).
Length: 9.85 meters – beam: 3.40 meters – displacement: 4700 kg – draft: 1.55 meters – sails: 52.47m² – capacity: 6 people.

Sun Fast 32i

Efficient and fast, this sailing boat allows both racing and cruising. Its draught gives efficiency and speed, and enough room to be very comfortable.
Its chandlery allows trainees to do sharp manoeuvres. It can host 6 people (juniors or adults), and is dedicated to courses of levels 2 to 4, based on manoeuvres, navigation and efficiency. It is also used for the instructors’ courses in Bonifacio, Paimpol, the Arz Island and the Glénans archipelago.
Length:9.60 meters – beam: 3.30 meters – displacement: 4050kg – draft: 1.98 meters –sails: 54.70m² - capacity: 6 people.
